Gastric sleeve surgery is performed on patients with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 kg/m² or higher, especially if there are associated conditions (type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, etc.). With a BMI of 40 kg/m² or more, surgery may be recommended even without additional health problems.
Contraindications for surgery
- Age under 18 or over 65
- Severe heart and lung diseases
- Active stage oncological diseases
- Alcohol or drug addiction
- Inability to follow medical recommendations after surgery
Treatment process
- Day 1 — consultation and full examination

- Days 3–5 — hospitalization and monitoring
